Our Minister

I am no stranger to Cullen and Deskford. I did quite a bit of work here in 1997-98 when my husband Rev. Ranald Gauld was your Interim Moderator. With his odd socks and quirky sense of humour, he was memorable! I enjoyed coming to conduct the services. I remember going to Deskford Church for the first time and discovering that there was no toilet! I had to cut down on my cups of tea on the mornings I was going to Deskford!

I was also Interim Moderator at Cullen and Deskford from 2005-2006. I still remember the coffee mornings and the sales which were held in both halls to raise money for the church. We had fun! Our dogs Samson and Delilah loved coming here to the beach. However, one day our vet caught us giving them ice-cream! It would have been cruel not to!

Sadly, after having four primary cancers between 2001 and 2014, Ranald died in the February of 2014. After twenty years at St. Rufus, Botriphnie and Grange, I moved to Insch-Leslie-Premnay-Oyne Parish Church from which I took early retirement last September. It’s lovely to see folk come through to the Community Centre Lunches - at which I am a volunteer - from both my former charges. It’s always lovely to catch with them.

I do hope to be able to keep up with pastoral visits while I am Interim Moderator, so please do let me know if anyone is ill or in hospital, or needs a visit for any reason at all. Please don’t presume that someone will tell me! You will know if you bump into me as I now have Solomon and Jezebel. I am always shouting at the pup to behave! I look forward to working with you in the days ahead. Wishing you God’s richest blessings. I Peter 4:10. Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.”
